Peer Reviews
- The project proposal is submitted to the DEO of the lead PI.
- After DEO approval, the project documentation is forwarded to the Dr. Wendy K. Wintersteen, Associate Director,
Research Programs Office, 137 Curtiss Hall, with DEO Project Evaluation Form, including the name and department
of four to six on-campus reviewers, and the IAHEES Project Transmittal Form.
- Following submission of the project documentation to IAHEES, the review process is set in motion. Assistant/Associate
Directors ordinarily select three to four reviewers for proposal evaluation to be completed within 30 days of receipt
of the completed project proposal. This process is coordinated by the Administrator
for Research Programs.
- Following return of review comments, an Assistant/Associate Director identifies any key items required for
revision.
- If necessary, the PI and Co-PI(s) revise the project proposal and prepare a cover letter to confirm that the
reviewer's comments were incorporated and/or considered in the final project proposal.
- Proposal and forms (if revised) are returned directly to the Associate/Assistant Director who sent the proposal
to the PI for revision. The material should be forwarded to IAHEES Research Programs Office, 137 Curtiss Hall.
- After approval, IAHEES assigns a project number, designates the appropriate category of funding for the project.
At this date, project is designated New or Revised, considering the departmental recommendation.
The approved CRIS forms are sent to the PI(s) and the DEO(s). The IAHEES forwards appropriate documentation to
the CRIS/CSREES offices in Washington, DC. The IAHEES maintains files for all approved IAHEES projects.
