Awards of major, competitive, peer-reviewed federal grants (e.g., NIH, NSF, EPA) can fulfill the requirement for a Station project. The award can be used to satisfy the requirement for having an IAHEES project by completing the following items:
- Complete AD-416 Research Resume and AD-417 Classification forms. Departmental office staff will connect to CRIS Forms Assistance Program to add New project information.
- The duration of the project will be the same as the duration of the grant award.
- Select H--Hatch for field 18.
- Obtain your DEO's signature on the AD-416 Research Resume form following Recommended.
- Attach documentation of either the award letter from the agency or a memo from the Contracts and Grants Officer if the award has been only orally communicated to the ISU Contracts and Grants Office at this time. These documents indicate the award amount and inclusive dates of the award.
- Attach all documentation of the funded proposal.
- Complete items 1-8 of the IAHEES Project Proposal Form, including appropriate signatures.
- Attach documentation for any approved special use form(s).
- Submit forms AD-416 Research Resume and AD-417 Classification, approved special use form(s) if indicated, signed cover page of the IAHEES Project Proposal form (includes items 1-8), and the grant proposal to the Station Projects Office, 131 Curtiss Hall.
Documentation will be reviewed and assigned a Station project number following administrative approval. Project approval documentation (copies of the approved CRIS forms) will be sent to the PI(s) and DEO(s).
If the grant receives an extension of time, the PI should forward documentation of the approved extension to the Station Projects Office. The project will then be extended to correspond with the revised termination date.
An annual AD-421 report is required for this type of Station project.
